The annual fall fundraiser for the St. Kizito Foundation took place a few weeks ago on Saturday, October 22, 2016.
The event started with mass celebrated by Father Donald Dunson at Saint Ladislas Church in Westlake. A fun-filled dinner event took place immediately following in Cullen Hall at Saint Ladislas.
The hall was filled with great music and lively conversation while attendees scoped out silent auction and raffle items and browsed and purchased beautiful African beadwork. Many opted to memorialize the evening by taking a photo booth picture.
The evening culminated with a live auction with two items. The first item offered all an opportunity to support an African student or students for a school year – at a tuition cost was $348.00 per student. Thirty-nine tuitions were “sold.” The second auction item was the ever-popular dinner with Fr. Dunson at his home at a mutually agreeable date to be determined. As in the past, we had not just one but two winners!
The evening was a resounding success, with over $30,000.00 raised! The attendees enjoyed a wonderful evening of fellowship, food, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the St. Kizito Foundation and its mission.
There are a variety of ways to help advance the work of the Saint Kizito Foundation. Of course, monetary donations are always accepted and appreciated. We also ask for your prayers for the students we serve, their teachers, and their benefactors. Help us spread the word about this worthy organization and the good work accomplished through it.
